The only exact public first-party rarity threshold currently confirmed for Dig For Eggs is Legendary or higher. The official Legendary Discovery badge awards a player for hatching an animal at that threshold, and the Experience description refers broadly to rare pets. The complete tier order, colors, odds, variants, and guarantees are not publicly documented.
Read the live rarity label
Use the hatch reveal, pet detail, or Pet Index text as the primary label. Copy the word exactly and record the date. Do not convert a gold, purple, glowing, large, or animated appearance into a tier unless the game itself names it.
If a community video visibly shows a label from the correct Experience, it can support a Community reported entry. A title that says “secret,” “mythic,” or “legendary” without a readable in-game label is only a discovery lead.
Keep “Legendary or higher” intact when discussing the badge. It proves there can be qualifying results above or at Legendary, but it does not name the tiers above it.
Current rarity status
Do not interpret the absence of lower tiers in this table as proof they do not exist. They remain undocumented here until their live labels are captured.
Compare pets beyond rarity
Rarity can signal a notable discovery and badge progress, but the useful plot decision also depends on cash contribution, placement, ownership, and available space. Read the current income value or run the controlled test in Pet Income.
A lower-tier new species may advance the ten-species Pet Index objective, while a duplicate high-tier pet may be more useful for income. Collection and economy goals can point to different choices. Decide which goal matters before selling or replacing anything.
If the game presents variants, sizes, or other modifiers, record them in separate fields unless the UI explicitly treats them as rarity. Combining every visual difference into one tier list creates false comparisons.
Estimate nothing from a small hatch sample
Ten hatches without a Legendary do not reveal the true probability. One Legendary does not make its source egg “best.” A useful rate needs a clearly defined egg, version, controlled sample, and enough observations, and even then it remains a player estimate unless the developer publishes the odds.
Record outcomes rather than announcing percentages. Keep each egg identity connected to its result and avoid mixing update versions. If the live game displays odds, capture the screen and exact wording; that is stronger than a calculated estimate.
Community agreement can corroborate a tier name or ordering when independent current sources visibly show it. Copying the same unsourced table across sites is not independent confirmation.
Pursue the Legendary Discovery milestone
First make the hatch loop reliable. Use a known egg, clear plot space, and confirm each result in the Pet Index. Then choose eggs based on live rarity information or reproducible sources rather than thumbnail claims.
Keep useful pets active so their cash supports more digging and hatching. Upgrade the plot when space is the bottleneck, and improve shovel or strength when egg supply is the bottleneck. There is no verified code or guarantee that should replace the normal loop.
When the milestone unlocks, record the animal’s exact label, source egg, and date. That confirms one result; it still does not reveal the overall rate.
Avoid common rarity mistakes
Do not import tier names from a similarly named game. Do not rank undiscovered silhouettes. Do not label a pet “best” without a shared income unit or player goal. Do not assume a Pet Index position equals rarity order. Do not claim shiny, golden, rainbow, mythic, secret, pity, or luck systems without visible Dig For Eggs evidence.
Also avoid selling the first qualifying discovery before checking the Pet Index and income. The species should remain recorded after later sale according to the official badge, but the live value and exact management state deserve a look first.
Continue the comparison
Track confirmed animals in the Pet Index, connect them to eggs in the Egg List, and test productive value with Pet Income. Check Updates after a balance change before treating an old ranking as current.
Verification level: rare pets and Legendary-or-higher are Official. The full tier ladder, colors, entities, variants, odds, pity rules, and rarity-to-income relationship need current in-game testing.
