Dig For Eggs Pet Index

Track Dig For Eggs animal species by live name, rarity, source egg, discovery state, placement, cash contribution, confidence, and check date.

Dig For Eggs has an in-game Pet Index. The official Animal Collector badge sets a concrete milestone: discover ten different animal species, with each new species counting even if the animal is later sold. Public first-party data does not name those species, so this guide explains how to build a reliable current index instead of publishing invented animals.

What the Pet Index tracks

Use the live Pet Index as the authority for species name and discovery state. A hatch reveal can confirm the immediate result, while the index shows whether that species became part of the collection. Record both when possible.

Keep discovery, ownership, and placement separate. The badge indicates discovery can persist after sale, but an animal no longer owned or placed may not contribute cash. A complete record should show whether the species is discovered, currently owned, and active on the plot.

The index’s ordering, hidden silhouettes, filters, and total count must be read from the current version. Do not infer a complete roster from the ten-species badge; ten is an objective, not a published maximum.

Currently documented roster

EntryConfirmed informationVerification
First hatched animalA player's first successful egg produces an animal.Official First Hatch objective; species varies or is unpublished.
Ten different speciesThe Pet Index recognizes at least ten distinct collection targets.Official Animal Collector objective; names unpublished.
Legendary-or-higher animalAt least one rarity threshold at Legendary or higher exists.Official Legendary Discovery objective; entity and odds unpublished.

These are system entries, not three species. Add named species only from a readable live reveal or Pet Index entry.

Add one species correctly

Use a controlled hatch with one known egg. On reveal, capture the exact species and rarity label. Open the Pet Index and confirm the discovered state. If the index shows source, income, or other fields, record them exactly; otherwise leave them unset.

Note the source egg only when the handoff is unambiguous. Hatching several queued eggs can make the connection uncertain. Add a UTC check date and mark the entry In-game verified. A detailed current walkthrough may support Community reported, but it should not override the live label.

After placement, record whether the animal is active and any displayed cash rate. Keep the income field versioned because balance changes are likely to affect it more often than the species name.

Use the index for decisions

For collection, prioritize a visible undiscovered species over another duplicate when the route and cost are comparable. The official badge rewards distinct species, not total animals. Do not sell a new result until the Pet Index visibly records it.

For the plot economy, compare active contribution. A discovered animal can remain in the index after sale, so the lineup can favor current earners once collection credit is secure. However, do not assume higher rarity always means higher income; verify the live pet detail or run a controlled cash test.

For egg routing, connect confirmed species back to source eggs and observed depth without claiming odds. The Egg List stores those source-side fields.

Filters that remain useful on mobile

A practical index can filter by discovered versus missing, live rarity label, source egg, owned versus sold, and placed versus stored. Cash fields should include their unit and check date. Unknown values should be blank, not zero, because zero could falsely imply a pet produces no income.

Sort collection views by discovery state and species name. Sort economy views by a comparable current income unit only when all visible values use the same basis. Do not combine per-second, per-cycle, and offline totals into one ranking.

The page design uses stacked fields rather than a wide table so each animal remains readable on a phone. The live game, not the layout, remains the source for the entries.

Fix missing discovery credit

Confirm that the hatch completed and produced a species, not merely that an egg timer ended. Reopen the Pet Index and look for the exact name from the reveal. A duplicate, variant, or higher rarity may still be the same species for the badge.

Allow normal server synchronization and rejoin through the official Experience if the result remains absent. Record the reveal and index state for a useful report. Do not hatch unrelated eggs while diagnosing the one result.

If an animal was sold before you checked, the badge description suggests the species should still count once discovered, but exact timing is not documented. Future hatches should be verified in the index before management.

Next actions

Use How to Hatch Eggs for a clean source-to-result handoff. Read Pet Rarities when a label is clear but its meaning is not. Use Pet Income and Plot Upgrades when the decision moves from collecting to building the productive lineup.

Verification level: the index, ten-species objective, persistence after later sale, first hatch, and Legendary-or-higher milestone are Official. Every named species, exact total, filter, variant, source, and income value needs current in-game evidence.
